Way back in 1925 a tiny mud hut at the Convent gate served as a dispensary. Mother Xaveria Van de Weyer and Mother Bertha Van Loo lived in an abandoned mud house. More Sisters joined them later. Msgr. Fr. Perier S.J. requested them to put up a Convent and a School building since he foresaw the division of the Archdiocese of Calcutta very soon. A small Convent building came up in 1925. Mother Valerie Hall took care of the sick in the compound, but soon the villagers started approaching her for health care. In 1926 Mother Dominique Coyle arrived to give a helping hand in the dispensary. For 17 years both the Sisters devoted themselves to the sick with wonderful results. In 1943, Sister Majella Lauwers and the following year Sister Pauline Vandevenne and in 1949 Sister Alphonse Van den Broeck came to help. After these Sisters, Sister Josephine Ekka took over the change of Nursing the sick for 18 years. In 1968 Sister Leontina Tigga replaced Sr. Josephine in the dispensary. In the beginning of the 70s, Rev. A. Delporte S.J., the Mission Architect presented a plan of the Hospital building to Misereor which was accepted and the entire Hospital complex got ready and was blessed by Rt. Rev. Pius Kerketta S.J., the Archbishop of Ranchi on September 29, 1975. Apart from the school community, the hospital community came into existence with Mother Laurentine De Bruyn as the Superior. Sister Leontina Tigga and Sister Cyrilla Baa joined her. Gradually the hospital was well furnished with the required furniture and equipment. Till 1982 the outdoor and indoor patients were served by the visiting doctors, namely Dr. Ram Bilas, Dr. Naogi, Dr. R. Prasad, Dr. Mrs. Jaiswal and Dr. Mrs. P.K. Nag. Dr. Mrs. Dorothy Baxla, Dr. Miss Margaret Topno and Dr. Mrs. Louisa Barla, Dr. Mrs. Nirmala Lakra and Dr. Miss Nirupama Lakra were part-time resident doctors. Sister Doctors: Sister Dr. Jessy
