The new foundation, Ursuline Convent, at Jampani, 13 miles from Simdega (Samtoli) on the Birmitrapur highway started on January 15. Sister Mechtilde Xess, Sister Leoba Ekka and Sister Cornelia Bilung were the pioneers. The new house was blessed after the Holy Mass officiated by the Archbishop of Ranchi. The receiption by the Parishioners was befitting the occasion. The gift procession was endless. The poor, good-hearted people of Jampani tried their best to gather some of the requisites for food and household articles and even some cash, so that the Sisters could meet both ends with the provisions of rice, potatoes, vegetables, onions, lentils, goats, chickens etc. It was a very beautiful gesture of loving welcome on their part. They were thanked profusely for their great generosity.
